Footprints Left Behind

Life as it is, can dull the heart and mind,
And yet, we dull witted creatures,

Are not left without hope, although~
blindly, we stumble through our own darkness,
For us, erudition ‘can be’ found~
wisdom 'tis in the gentle touch of another's hand;
and in that suspended moment,
when the two, become one heart,
Then heavens doors swing wide open~
and pride falls like scales, from a dusty soul,
'Tis by the light of pure grace~
that dim eyes are opened,
All mysteries once hidden, are revealed~
in this, finally two hearts can understand,
for the meaning of life, is reflected back to us~
from within the eyes of love,
and so, life's cycle continues on,
No, we frail creatures shall not be dismissed~
Nor will we be erased by the ravages of time!
For our legacy is, and will ever remain~
‘tis within the footprints of our love left behind.
