Southwestern Style Hot Dog Recipe
*Measurements & prep shown for two hot dog servingPREPARE AHEAD
1/2 cubed Ripe Avocado & 1/2 firm Beefsteak tomato1 oz finely shredded Sharp Cheddar cheese
1 Ortega Chili Pepper: Fresh peeled & seeded then diced.
DRESSINGS 2 teaspoons of each (per hot dog) 4 tsp of Homemade Sour Cream Ranch Dressing (thick consistency)
4 tsp of Green Chili Salsa Verde
4 tsp of Green Chili Salsa Verde
BREAD CHOICES
2 Thin sliced of "Sheepherder's Bread" Thin sliced Sourdough bread, or Whole Wheat Hot Dog bun
Spread dressing on each bread, & place 1 hot dog split side up on each bread then sprinkle cheese into split.
Now top each hot dog with 1/2 of the Avocado, Tomato & Ortega dices.
PROTEIN CHOICES
2 cooked & split Veggie-dogs or 2 Kosher Beef Hot DogsFINAL PREPARATION
Heat or grill your dog & split the middle of your hot dogs cut 1/2 way through lengthwise.Spread dressing on each bread, & place 1 hot dog split side up on each bread then sprinkle cheese into split.
Now top each hot dog with 1/2 of the Avocado, Tomato & Ortega dices.
Drizzle 2 tsp of Green Salsa Verde over the top.
Suggested side dishes: Tossed green Pinto salad with Watermelon cubed, plus your drink of choice.
