LOVE AND BUTTERFLIES

(Tanka, Japanese Style Poetry)

Love is shared freely,
And, free love must remain,
Or like trapped butterfly,
Soon, love ‘twill wither and die,
But love left free, always grows

RED FACED & TONGUE IN CHEEK

He says that he loves it,
More then anything else,
And it seems that he,
Just cannot get enough,
And when it is hot,
He always comes running;
The aroma, he says,
Just drives him crazy!
He says, it’s the best,
That he’s ever had,
The texture’s amazing,
It makes his heart leap;
It’s spicy, and savory,
Tangy and just a tad sweet!
But he gets so sloppy,
Whenever he eats it,
That sometimes it even,
Runs right down his chin!
And one time he told me,
“Just  fill-up my mouth,
I want to eat it;
until my cheeks pop!”
He said he’d be happy,
If he could just eat it;
With a big spoon!
Yes, his passion seems crazy,
It’s over the top!
And sometimes I wonder,
When he will stop!
But I am so flattered,
And how it thrills me,
I just have to giggle;
Now I really think,
My man is the boss,
But I only wish that,
He’d have some pasta,
With my "Red Sauce!"
And oh, honey please,
Use your napkin!

"TO THE MOON ALICE" Rock-it Serenade
Metaphor, in Concrete style Poetry
(also called "shape" or "Picture" Poetry)
This poem was inspired by the popular
Metaphorical style of 1960s Poetry & Song Lyrics.

ALICE!

ROCK IT
SERENADE
I took a trip to dreamland,
And there I found my place,
Hung my hopes upon a star,
Then I painted on my face,
But, I lost that moonbeam,
So, I went to rainbows end,
I left myself so far behind,
I cannot come back again,

Home, home, home, it echoes,
When will the shadows end?
I'm reaching out for pathos,
But, I could find no friends,

I see that distant blooming,
Now, that’s where I must go,
I think I’ll lose my tie there,
Just become a fading glow,

Don’t ask me any questions,
And I will, tell you no lies,
But can’t hear you anyhow,
‘Cause, I’m just too far gone.

ABOUT THIS POEM~ Inspiration is such a strange thing! I wrote this 1st Poem this morning “Rock It Serenade”, it was as if someone just dropped it in my head, the words flowed fast as I could write them! I wrote this poem in just a few minutes, with no changes... It's so amazing & fun when something inspired comes to you that way! 08/09/2015

Archaic Style Poetry (English translation of a Gaelic Poem I wrote)

Calain’s Maiden Ghloir
A Maiden’s Morning Glory

Thy love this dawn,
Dost fall gentle on me,
Like Erin’s mist doest,
Thou seeps into my soul,

With flourish I blush,
Thy love hast held me,
Unto first light I fear,
A clever nave thou art!

For, thee hast fast wings,
Upon mine own heart,
Thus on wind of morn,
Canst I with angels fly,

As the lark doth sing,
To breaking dawn,
So dost mine own soul,
Doest I rejoice in thee!

For thou art my love,
My joy, and my fortune,
Thine art mine own life,
Thou art morning’s glory.
