LOVE, How Can I Define it?
LOVE How Can Love be Defined, what is
it’s worth?
Love is a word which has nearly lost it’s
meaning for many. Because love as a word has been misused, it has been used to
manipulate & now love is even attach to things “I love my car, ice cream, wallpaper...
for crying-out-loud!”
But
getting to the point, “true love… real love,” ‘is’ unconditional and
emotionally, it’s made up of many things. For this reason, it is nearly
impossible to explain what love is in words. Yet, most of us see that ‘love’s
value’ stands far above all else in this world. For it is love, ‘the eternal unseen’
force within each of us, that seems to give life even beyond the length of our own
human existence.
But how can we know
what love is, how can we teach love? We can speak of our expressions and acts
of love, we can even speak of how love makes us feel, but Love itself seems
indefinable with words alone. For “love” encompasses every aspect of our being.
Therefore, love itself can only truly be defined by one’s actions, it can be
observed, “what we do for the sake of love”. For to love someone, is to
unconditionally surrender our self-defenses; it is to sacrifice our own needs
and pride at times, for the sake of another, sometimes even at the risk of our
own well being.
It is written that a man named Jesus once said to his disciples, “There is no greater love then this; that one lay down their life for their friends.”

(Tanka style poetry)
I trounce you darkness,
Put my sword to your cold heart,
Your hatred shall not rule me,
For I am the power of light,
I Caliburn be love.

We all need love. Scientific studies have proven that, those who
are shown love thrive and those who are deprived of it wither & in some
cases one can even die when deprived of love. It is only love, which can fully
open our heart to experience the best of life. Without love there would be no
passion in life. It is love which takes us to heights of ecstasy; and love can
also plunge us to the very depths of agony. But even though sometimes love can
bring us the greatest pain in life, we cling to it; for love is the very essence
of our soul, love is that which makes us human. To put love into words, I
believe that the following biblical text defines the essence of love best:
"The Way of Love"
If I speak in the language of men and of angels, but I do not have love, I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have the ability to prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge of the universe, if I have all faith enough that I can remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away everything I own, and if I sacrifice my body in order to boast; but do not have love, I receive no benefit.
Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious. Love does not brag, it is not puffed up. 13:5 It is not rude, it is not self-serving, it is not easily angered or resentful. Love is not glad about injustice, but it rejoices in the truth. Love bears all things, believes all that is positive, love brings hope to every circumstance, and love enables us to endure all things. Everything else in this world will pass away, but love last forever… ~: New International Bible 1st Corinthians 13 :~

IN CONCLUSION, ‘My definition’ of love is this: first, to qualify love
and loving I must say, “if it ‘does not’ fit within the guidelines of the above
prophetic text, "The Way of Love", it’s not love.”
I believe that, love is the substance and sustenance
of our very being, ‘it is’ the light and life within each of us, that “unseen”
yet clearly demonstrated force within. That which many have called “Creator/the
Divine/God.” Love, it is our only true legacy from ‘self’ in this world, that ‘essence’
which is to be passed on for generations to come. Our love transcends the
physical, ‘it is’ the sacred part of our-self, made eternal. Therefore, the
love we share with others is the only thing of worth we have to give. But that is
surely the greatest wealth of all! For it lasts beyond the life we live on this
earth.
“Namaste” (ie.) for this within us, I respectfully & humbly bow
before ‘you’
